Laurium Senior Housing is a thriving independent living community located in Laurium. Our development was built in 1968 as a part of a joint effort between the Village of Laurium and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

We are located within walking distance to restaurants and entertainment, churches, hair salons, and the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics.

Our caring staff supports a warm and friendly environment where residents can relax and enjoy numerous on-site amenities. Common areas include a fitness center and a large Community Room as well as a park like setting with picnic area and BBQ grill. Planned social activities include: daily coffee clutch, holiday parties, ice cream socials, garden club, potlucks and so much more! There's something for everyone!

All apartments at Laurium Senior Housing are safe, well maintained and comfortable. Each apartment includes a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bath with walk-in-shower, and beautiful views. All utilities, (gas heat, electric and water) are included in the rent and every apartment. Cable and internet are available at a discounted rate. Garages are available to rent for convenient indoor parking.

Rent Calculations

The rent is different for every resident. Each resident can choose either to pay a flat rental amount established for the individual bedroom size of the apartment, or 30% of their "Adjusted" income.

"Adjusted" income is the amount of annual income an individual has after deducting $400 for each individual over the age of 62, and medical/disabled expenses for qualified individuals.
